I offer a safe space for you to re-discover hope through calm and nurturing acceptance. Therapeutic strategies, with unconditional emotional support, can enable you to experience the productive and rewarding change that you desire. Feelings are real. But, as real as feeling are, just feeling, “it” does not necessarily make it the truth. You can get past circumstances that confound and frustrate. Together we explore possibilities by looking at situations from varying perspectives, asking questions and developing answers to enhance your strengths. I am well versed in concerns about depression, anxiety and stress management, including cutting/self-harm, addictions/compulsions, aggression, grief and loss, negative prognosis and chronic pain and PTSD/trauma. Additionally, I offer career development counseling for times of change.

You are, “The Expert,” on your life and the choices living a good and fruitful, purposeful life requires. There are many considerations we can explore to facilitate change. Therapeutic Strategies include: Collaborative, Narrative, and Solution Focused/Brief Therapy. Additional Strategies include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Reality and Existential; Mindfulness, Motivational Enhancement & Career Development, including processes for students as well as career enhancing options/second career options for adults. When addressing couple/marital concerns I favor resources and strategies introduced by John Gottman, also Emotionally Focused Therapy both which center to reinforce trust and a solid emotional foundation.

I have been a classroom teacher working with students to overcome learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Anxiety and Behavioral Issues. I have been a clinical psychotherapist at a dedicated Psychiatric Hospital (clinical) inpatient child and adolescent therapist, and IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) child, adolescent, adult and seniors therapist.

Family is where everyone begins in experiencing life. Parenting is our first understanding of relationship. These experiences influence us; how we get along and interact with ourself, with other people, with our surroundings and processions.  My focus is to facilitate healthy sustainable relationships that begin with ourselves, with moms and dads, with spouses, with children, with brothers and sisters, blended and extended families… expanding to include friends, school, the workplace, neighborhoods, and communities.
